The USAG 967 is a professional analogue external micrometer for extremely precise measurements with a resolution of 0.01 mm (1/100 mm). It is manufactured in accordance with the strict industrial standards DIN 862 and ISO 3611. It is fitted with hard metal contact surfaces (carbide inserts), a matt chrome-plated housing to prevent light reflection, a ball-type brake (manual) for constant measuring pressure, and a locking lever.
The item is supplied in a protective wooden case together with a setting gauge (calibrator) and a calibration key.
Demanding machining processes, the metalworking industry, toolmaking and mechanical workshops require uncompromising precision. The USAG 967 external micrometer is a top-of-the-range workshop gauge designed for the precise measurement of external dimensions, wall thicknesses, pin diameters and shafts.
Key advantages and technical features:
Exceptional durability and accuracy: The measuring surfaces are fitted with hard metal (carbide) inserts, which prevent wear on the contact surfaces and ensure a long service life and consistent measurement accuracy.
Protection against reflections: The arc and measuring drum are finished with matt chrome, which prevents unwanted glare under bright workshop or industrial lighting and allows for quick and easy reading of the graduated measuring lines.
Constant measuring pressure: The built-in ratchet-type measuring brake (sensitive lever) ensures the same pressure is applied during every measurement, preventing deformation of the object being measured and human error when tightening.
Secure locking: A reliable locking lever allows the spindle to be locked when you wish to read the measured value away from the workstation or use it as a reference gauge.
Year-round readiness and calibration: Each micrometer is supplied in a sturdy wooden case that protects the instrument from knocks and dirt. The set also includes a calibration key for setting the zero point and a calibration gauge (reference standard).

Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Q: What does the USAG 967 external micrometre set contain?
A: The set includes the USAG 967 external micrometer, a protective wooden case, a calibration/zero-setting key and a calibration gauge (for models over 25 mm).
Q: What is the difference between a micrometer with a resolution of 0.01 mm and a conventional vernier caliper?
A: A micrometer offers significantly higher accuracy (0.01 mm) and repeatability of measurements thanks to a mechanical lock, which ensures that the same pressure is always applied to the object being measured.
Q: How do you correctly set the zero point on a micrometer?
A: Using the supplied calibration key and reference standard (adjustment gauge), you can quickly check and, if necessary, adjust the zero position of the drum.
